CALGARY KILLARNEY ARTISTIC SWIM CLUB BYLAWS
Calgary Killarney is a society within the Province of Alberta. A society is an independent legal entity, a corporate 'person' that exists separate and apart from its members. Because of this, the members cannot be held personally responsible for the debts of the society.
Societies are similar to non-profit companies, and must direct any profits back into fulfilling the objectives of the organization.

CLUB POLICIES
ATHLETE CODE OF CONDUCT
All athletes are required to abide by the Athlete Code of Conduct. Includes the discipline policy.
PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT
All Parents / Guardians are required to abide by the Parents / Guardians Code of Conduct. Sets the expectation for parents as contributing members of our community.
COACHES CODE OF CONDUCT
All Coaches are required to abide by the Coaches Code of Conduct; sets the expectation for Coaches within our community.
FEES & FINANCIAL COMMITMENT
Outlines the financial commitments that members make to Calgary Killarney when they become members. Includes late payment and refunds. (Updated June 2024)
VOLUNTEERING & FUNDRAISING
All Calgary Killarney members are required to fundraise and volunteer. The specific levels depend on the program enrolled in (updated September 2024).
TRAVEL & CHAPERONE
Travel and Chaperoning is one of the greatest things our club can do together when competing. That said there are a number of things we need to do to ensure the health and safety of all involved. (Updated Feb 14, 2024)
SOCIAL MEDIA
This policy provides guidance to all Swimmers and Parents around how CKSAC will be represented in social media. The goal is to encourage responsible social media behaviour the promotes CKASC in a safe and engaging way.
RETURN TO SPORT
It is possible that a swimmer can be sick or injured; sometimes as a result of Artistic Swimming and sometimes as a result of personal activities. To keep swimmers safe, it is important that they return to the pool in a way that respects their and their teammates health.
CONFIDENTIALITY
All members within the club may be exposed to confidential information as a result of their volunteer role. Outlines how we as a club handle confidential information,
CONFLICT OF INTEREST
In some cases, members may be exposed to situations that create a conflict of interest. This policy provides guidelines for how members are expected to act in these situations.
COACH REMUNERATION
Calgary Killarney Coaches are paid in accordance with this policy. For parents / guardians this means there is a fixed capacity from coaches to address questions.
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT POLICY
Describes how the club manages finances, including reserve funds and accounting principles.

Each year, Calgary Killarney elects a new Board of Directors. This policy outlines the nomination process for members to stand for elecrtion.
